Benchmark Your BI Maturity with TDWI's New Assessment Tool
This new benchmark tool from TDWI allows you to find out where your BI/DW program stands on Wayne Eckerson's "BI Maturity Model" and how it compares with BI/DW programs at other organizations.
TDWI's new Benchmark Survey and Assessment offers:
- BI/DW maturity scores that benchmark your BI/DW program in eight categories
- An online, interactive chart that enables you to compare your organization to others based on industry, company size, and BI/DW budget, among other variables
- A 14-page Benchmark Guide that provides an overview of the BI Maturity Model and helps you interpret your benchmark scores
Take a few minutes to complete TDWI's BI Benchmark Survey and Assessment—you'll receive an objective evaluation of the progress your organization has made in its BI journey, an explanation of your scores, and how you stack up against other organizations.
A Letter From Benchmark Creator, Wayne Eckerson
Would you like to assess the maturity of your business intelligence and data warehousing (BI/DW) program in an objective way? Would you like to compare your BI/DW program to others in organizations of the same size or in the same industry?
Many of you have asked TDWI over the years to provide such an objective benchmark. Well, we've finally done it. Using TDWI's Maturity Model as a template, we have created a 50-question assessment survey that will give you a numeric assessment of your group's BI/DW maturity. What's more, you will be able to manipulate an online, interactive chart that enables you to compare your results to other companies by industry, size, and BI/DW budget, among other variables.
In addition, once you complete the survey, we will send you an email containing your maturity scores across eight dimensions of a BI/DW program as well as a 14-page Benchmark Guidebook that will help you interpret your scores in the context of TDWI's Maturity Model. The Guidebook will provide a brief description of each stage in the model as well as the Gulf and the Chasm, the two major "sticking points" where most organizations encounter turbulence in their BI journey.
The
Benchmark Survey and Assessment tool will finally make it possible for us to gauge the maturity of the BI/DW industry and identify how much progress we've made since the advent of business intelligence and data warehousing in the early 1990s. I look forward to the results, and I hope you
participate!
Yours truly,
Wayne Eckerson
